All timber fencing materials used by our contractors are CCA treated, minimum fence post concreted into the ground at 600mm. All rails, CCA Treated Pine (75mmX38mmX4800mm), are attached using 75mmX14G hot dipped galvanised batten screws. 1800mmX100mmX16mm CCA treated pine palings fixed into place using 45mmx2.5mm hot dipped galvanised nails. CCA treated hardwood posts 100mmx75mmx2400mm are concreted into the ground at 600mm.

CCA treated wood is widely used throughout the world for a great range of applications. CCA (Copper Chrome Arsenic) treatment of plantation and re-growth timber has helped meet the demand of durable building products. Despite scientific reviews and changing government legislation, CCA continues to be registered and approved for a wide range of uses in Australia. Other treatments include ACQ & LOSP.
 

Benefits of using treated wood for our fencing products

CCA treated wood is an environmentally friendly material. The treating process of CCA extends the life of the wood requiring fewer trees to be cut. It is pressure treated with a preservative to resist decay and insect attack.

ACQ (Alkaline Copper Quaternary) uses copper and ammonium compounds to defend Fungi and insect attack and is treated in a similar way to CCA.

  • H3 treated pine is for outside above ground use
  • H4 treated pine is for outside in ground use
